The CSSA ‘Women’s Group’ networking event, Thursday 26th March 2020

The CSSA, Cleaning and Support Services Association, are running their Women’s Group networking event at All Bar One in The Trafford Centre on Thursday 26th March 2020, to coincide with the Manchester Cleaning Show.

Join them from 12pm to 2pm for light refreshments, and a chance to find out more about the organisation, their upcoming events, meet the women’s committee members and network with like minded individuals.

Research suggests that women will only apply for a management or higher role if they feel 120% confident in their skills and abilities, yet males will apply for the same opening when they feel just 65% confident.

Through training, support, mentoring and networking, the CSSA Women’s group supports people in the cleaning services sector by increasing peer confidence, abilities and skills, and directing them towards higher roles within their organisations, irrespective of gender or age.

Cecelia Hubert, Head of the Women’s Group at CSSA says: “Over 1 million people work within the cleaning sector; and as such it is one of the UK’s biggest employers.  Although the female to male employment ratio within the sector is balanced, this is unfortunately not reflected in management positions, with the greatest split being at board level.  We are not only working towards changing this dynamic, but also empowering anyone within the industry to put themselves forward for promotions and fulfil their potential.”

The group are also passionate about helping charities that align with their values.

Their chosen charity, Safer Places, are a UK based charity which offers a range of different services to support adults and children through abusive relationships.  They work comprehensively with those who have experienced domestic abuse to help them recover, empower them, rebuild their lives and to go on and achieve for themselves things they might once have thought impossible.

The second, Breast Cancer Care, is the only specialist UK-wide charity in the UK providing care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Doug Cooke, Chairman of CSSA says: “We are hugely proud to represent the cleaning industry in the UK, and are proud to champion such a wonderful initiative designed to give equal opportunities to everyone within the industry.  Please do come along to the event which is welcome to all, and help share your expertise with other individuals in the sector who are looking to better their position within the industry.”
