ABOUT
The CSSA is run by the Cleaning Industry for the industry. We exist to help businesses Grow, Comply, Change and Innovate. We do this through our accreditation and recognising greatness, key events, online and offline business advice, and having government representation.
The association celebrates excellence in the industry with the CSSA Innovation Showcase; helping you grow through recognition and accreditation; keeps members informed and connected through events; keeping you compliant with new law and legislation, gives businesses a powerful collective voice; allowing us to lobby for change at government level, and by sharing best practices with our members we are at the forefront of innovation; driving the industry forward with new technology.
The CSSA raises standards in the Industry. Being a CSSA member lets your clients know that they are dealing with a reputable company. All members adhere to the code of practice. Application does does not guarantee membership. Applicants are only admitted if they pass the initial audit.
As a CSSA member, you have access to an exclusive community of individuals and businesses within the contract cleaning industry via a mix of online and offline content. Live events and distance learning, this community gets the support they need to run their businesses, safe in the knowledge that in addition to their membership perks, they’ve got a 60-year old, well established organisation lobbying for them, fighting their corner and doing all they can to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
PARTNERSHIPS
To ensure the CSSA flourishes and remains at the forefront of improving our offer to our members we have formed alliances with particular like-minded organisations.
These organisations support the objectives of the CSSA and its members.
CSSA is an active member of the British Cleaning Council (BCC) which is made up of 20 trade and membership associations, all linked to the cleaning, hygiene and waste industry. BCC member organisations commit to raising professional standards, employee health and wellbeing, career development and training, improved quality standards and better procurement practices.
CSSA and the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) have a long history of collaboration, including shared research and joint trials. They co-led The Future of Cleaning initiative, a research programme with the University of Surrey. This tested a range of products and equipment to understand real world impact on productivity, hygiene outcomes, air quality and pathogen levels and training needs for new technologies.

Cleaning & Maintenance (C&M) Online is the cleaning sector's longest established publication and the official media partner for The Cleaning Show. C&M supports CSSA with press releases and other PR activity.
The Cleaning Show, held annually, alternates between London and Manchester. It is the largest and longest running event in the UK dedicated to cleaning and hygiene. The show is organised by the BCC and Quartz Business Media and features leading brands, new technologies and innovations. The Cleaning Show conference programme provides a wealth of opportunities to hear from expert speakers and panellists.
THE TEAM
The CSSA is passionate about making a real difference for our members. We’ve provided a national voice for contract cleaning companies all over the country for many years; talking to the Government on their behalf, giving our members valuable content and advice, and bringing our industry together to socialise and share best practice.
