Attending the ceremony at the ExCeL in London was Genesis’ General Manager Emma Saunders. Emma said: “It was incredibly exciting to win the contract innovation award, and we have to thank the entire Genesis team in Cardiff and the US for their continued hard work and dedication. It took thousands of manhours and millions of pounds’ investment to develop our eco-benign® technology which in turn lead to the creation of this innovative product range.
“Each application specific product surpasses regular chemical solutions in three ways. They offer long term cost savings to customers as they continue to clean after application, they protect assets as they require less abrasive cleaning action, and they provide a duty of care to cleaning staff and building users through the removal of harsh cleaning chemicals.
“We have recently witnessed a surge in demand for our environmentally responsible, scientific products and, in response, have begun an ambitious facilities expansion programme that will boost our manufacturing capacity. This is a very exciting time for Genesis, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our continued commitment and innovation in the industry.”

Comments on Bunzl “Clorox T360 system uses an electrostatic charge to access hard-toreach places, which are often missed. It’s also four times quickler to use than a trditional trigger spray and uses 65% less chemicals. It delivers superior disinfection, while saving time and money.”
Comments on Renovo “We were attracted by the way a complete new approach has been developed to cater to the needs of vulnerable residents of One housing’s facilities. It involves new apps, including a Quality Control and Handyperson app for the cleaning operatives as well as specialist training. The results have been excellent: zero resident complains in the last 18 months and a cleaning operative able to handle the situation when they encountered a distressed resident at risk of harming themselves.”
Comments on Unger “The Unger flat mopping system is a simple but very effective innovation, which benefits the contract cleaner, the cleaning operative, and the customer. It improves the operatives wellbeing but cutting the risk or repetive strain injury, winning an award from AGR, the association for healthy backs). Productive is increased as its 36% faster than a standard flat mop and 64% faster than a round mop and finally, is considered to produce cleaner floors.”
